Trader Joe's Chile Relleno

Mmmmmmmm... Mexican food ... definitely one of my weaknesses when it comes to eating clean.
I am always tempted by fresh fried tortilla chips, copious amount of guacamole, oozing, oodles of cheese and margaritas.
Who isn't?
Indulging is good for the soul however, and done in moderation can be the key to sticking to a clean eating lifestyle.
Trader Joe's has come up with the answer to my Mexican Cravings.
Their frozen Chile Relleno is portion controlled and comes with no chips.
The 350 calorie entree consists of a "Fire Roasted Poblano Pepper filled with Cheese and topped with salsa."
Yum.
Pop the tray in the microwave or oven and you have an authentic, truly decadent meal.
Yes, it's a bit high in fat - 18 grams, but imagine if this ONE serving has that much fat, how much lardaliciousness you take in a single sitting at a Mexican restaurant.
On the plus side, it's got an impressive 22 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber.
For a few more calories and added protein and fiber, add half a cup of vegetarian refried beans or if you want to be really "good", a serving of broccoli.
Eating this meal makes me feel as if I was eating the leftovers from a really authentic, Delius restaurant - without the excess calories or guilt.
Find the Chile Relleno in the freezer section of Trader Joe's.
